Hi:

I just installed 3.8 gnus, and I'm having a problem getting it to pay
attention to my .newsrc file.  It orders the newsgroups okay, but any
changes I make (e.g., reading articles) is forgotten next time I get
in gnus.  This happens even if I specifically tell it to save .newsrc.
Actually, .newsrc and .newsrc.el are okay--they have the right stuff
in them.  It just seems like gnus doesn't pay attention.

What am I doing wrong?
