class is something not  explained anywhere in  the  gnu manual. I know
nothing of it or   its   importance, personally.  But I'm  curious.  I
remember some faint rumblings of it in Franz lisp (?), and I know that
one of the lauded properties of scheme is that it's classless.

A nice description of this topic in the manual might be enlightening.
