I have been able to make gcc without any problems, but when I try to compile g++ I get the following: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- % make gcc -g -O -c typecheck.c gcc: Program cc1 got fatal signal 4. *** Error code 1 Stop. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Has anyone managed to get g++ up and running on a VAX running Ultrix? I'd really like to jump on the bandwagon, but it looks like the road is rougher than I had hoped. Also, I have not changed the crt0.c file from the g++ distribution so I'm not sure it will work once I get the above problem fixed. Here are the version of things that might be important: gcc Version 1.28 g++ Version 1.25 Ultrix Version 2.2 III Usenet: iuvax!jec UUU I UUU ARPANet: jec@iuvax.cs.indiana.edu U I U Phone: (812) 335-7729 U I U U.S. Mail: Indiana University U I U Dept. of Computer Science UUUIUUU 021-E Lindley Hall I Bloomington, IN. 47405 III
