The 8741 will be a 40 pin ceramic package with an erasure window. (There may be 44 pin chip carrier or what ever they are called). If it is the only chip, it is unlikely to be the 8741, since it has a bus interface and is designed to be a programmable peripheral directly connected to a computer bus.
