I have not seen the name Richard Stallman connected with the NeXT and I find this surprising in light of the following facts: 1.) In the GNU Manifesto, Mr. Stallman writes that GNU will be aimed at machines in the 68000/16000 class. 2.) Somebody posted a progress report to gnu.announce and thanked various corporate sponsors for donations of equipment. NeXT was the only company mentioned that made a cash donation.
