And in text files I don't like worrying about whether or not my word is the start of a sentance, in which case the first letter is capitalized. I've actually gotten so used to having it I get upset when forced to use an editor without this feature. Does anyone know of a way to have the search operation always respect the case? Just this morning I edited lots of files where I wanted to change the string 'vax' to 'simulate' but leave the string 'VAX' unchanged. I sure got tired of typing in ':set noic' everytime I found a file that needed a change, and then having my regular searches fail due to ignorecase being turned off. Jim PS. It's been brought to my attention the signature below is out of date. I'll fix it when I have time. -- Jim Harkins jlh@loral.cts.com may work.
