North Andover, MA Lines: 17 Are there some Cyrillic fonts that are not so ugly? I recently realized why I think them so ugly. There are few ascenders or descenders and the letters themselves are very angular. You can go for entire lines with every word just a box. The itallic font used in Smirnitsky is more palatable, although its ``ve'' is atrocious. Yet written script can be as visually pleasing in Cyrillic as Roman alphabets. The little writing that I do is accomodated by the AMS Cyrillic (no better than the regular publishing fonts) but it would be nice to have a more pleasing font available to me. Perhaps it would spread. Well, I can at least hope.-- Rob Horn UUCP: ...harvard!adelie!infinet!rhorn ...ulowell!infinet!rhorn, ..decvax!infinet!rhorn Snail: Infinet, 40 High St., North Andover, MA
