I'm not sure what languages you should learn, but speaking as a professional in the field with over 16 years experience, I can tell you that COBOL is also still alive -- at least on mainframes. We also program in C, but it is very limited. If you want to get a job with us, the best bet is to learn to THINK and COMMUNICATE effectively. We'll teach you the language. If you take languages, I'd suggest at least one COBOL class and assembler. C is nice, but we just don't do enough work on minis and micros for there to be enough demand.
