I invite comments on the notion of taking yet another step back, and asking ourselves "WHY are the maps inaccurate?" After having seen the speed with which a new machine appears in the map database, coupled with the option of sending high speed fixes out in news.config, the only reason (IMHO) I can see, is that individual site admins are not sending their updates out. Incidentally for those who are interested I could post the source of getcon(1) - the program I use to cull temporary updates from news.config It may be the case (as was mentioned) that a location has 30 - 40 (or more) machines, BUT IF THE ADMINISTRATOR OF EACH keeps his part of the bargain, there might be a chance.
