...and that's true, but it's not important.

The maps could accurately reflect the territory, with instantaneous all-points
updates which were never mistaken and which tracked broken UUCP connections
hour by hour --

-- and rerouting would STILL be a bad idea.  "Bad" as in morally incorrect, as
well as simply wrong-headed with overtones of fascism and stupidity.
