A special directory has been set up on uunet for anonymous ftp of the nethack2.3
source. This is virgin 2.3 source, with no bug fixes or additions applied.
When you ftp to uunet, you'll be put in the ~ftp directory. cd to
comp.sources.games/nethack2.3 and get the 13 compressed shar files there.

The source is also available via anonomous uucp from my archive on saab:
