No kidding! As a practical example, I offer the following: I lived with two other guys and cat named "Trout" one year. One of the guys forgot to get the cat some cat-food. The next day he received (over e-mail!) a "letter" from our cat (trout@1124Emerald) on his Unix machine, saying that the cat was hungry. He and I were truly impressed. No, our cat does not use computers. It was of course a practial joke performed by our other room-mate. We pressed him and he told us how it is done. Truly simple if you know what to do (no, I am not telling anyone). The moral of the story is: never take your email for granted; it is to easy to fake. As for Netnews, every year around April 1st there are all sorts of "interesting" postings. Unix, secure? HAH! [p.s. what Mr. Papa said about ANSI terminals of course is true -- it is well worth your while to see some of the totally SickAndDeranged that can be done with them!] >-- Marco Papa 'Doc' .oO Chris Oo. -- Christopher Lishka ...!{rutgers|ucbvax|...}!uwvax!uwslh!lishka Wisconsin State Lab of Hygiene lishka%uwslh.uucp@cs.wisc.edu Immunology Section (608)262-1617 lishka@uwslh.uucp ---- "...Just because someone is shy and gets straight A's does not mean they won't put wads of gum in your arm pits." - Lynda Barry, "Ernie Pook's Commeek: Gum of Mystery"
