The October 1988 issue was the last one on my subscription (which was so screwed up by BYTE that it was extended by them for an additional 4 or 5 years (4 or 5 years ago) due to their screwups. Jerry's columns used to be entertaining, and used to contain some factual information. About 2 or 3 years ago the decline started. I still intend glancing at each month's issue on the newsstands primarily for the Steve Ciarcia CIRCUIT CELLAR column, and will purchase any interesting issue. Overall, in my opinion, BYTE has ceased being "important." Thad Floryan [thad@cup.portal.com (OR) ...!sun!portal!cup.portal.com!thad]
