Message-ID: <1111@tellab5.tellabs.CHI.IL.US> Date: 25 Oct 88 00:26:13 GMT Organization: Tellabs, Inc. Lisle, IL Lines: 25 I am having trouble with the new 'mergemem' utility supplied with AmigaDos V1.3. I currently have two memory boards in my Amiga 2000; one is a GVP Impact 2000 w/ 1 MEG of ram, the other is a Micron 2 MEG ram expansion. My hardware configuration is as follows: Amiga Zorro II slot #1 = GVP IMPACT 2000 Amiga Zorro II slot #3 = Micron 2 MEG All other expansion slots are unused. Autoconfig maps the memory spaces as follows: GVP IMPACT 2000 = $200000 - $2FFFFF Micron 2 MEG = $400000 - $5FFFFF When I invoke the mergemem utility, it responds by saying that no merge is possible. Is my problem due to the order that my boards are placed into my Amiga 2000? Also, I do not understand why there is a gap in the memory map from $300000 - $3FFFFF. Is this due to the autoconfig process or due to the hardware on these boards? I would like to learn more about the hardware of the Amiga 2000. Can anyone recommend a good book for this? Thank you very much in advance to anyone that can offer some help, it is much appreciated! - Roger Gale -
