     I like the A1000 better because of (1) detached keyboard, (2) case
design, and (3) Kickstart on disk.  However, you will want at least 1MB of
RAM and that's easier to get on an A500.  If you can find a reasonably
priced memory expansion for the A1000 go that way.  Otherwise, get the
A500.
