I'm not familiar with the Miniscribe 3053, but I do use a Quantum ProDrive40 SCSI daily. I've run the A2090 and FFS on a variety of ST506 and SCSI drives, since we try to maintain a "representative sample" of the marketplace. The Quantum literally screams in comparison to other drives at its nominal access. It's up to 4 times faster than other SCSIs here (differential varies) and of course leaves ST506 units standing still. The significant difference is its cache buffer.
