Keywords: Apple IIe Message-ID: <3251@hubcap.UUCP> Date: 17 Oct 88 13:11:20 GMT Organization: Clemson University, Clemson, SC Lines: 21 A friend of mine purchased an AppleIIe a while back in fairly good condition (used) at a flea market. He decided to put a 3.5" UniDisk in it recently and is having problems. The UniDisk didnt work in his machine, so he removed it and was going to do without it. But the problem began there. After he removed the card, his machine will no longer boot from disk (with or without UniDisk card). It boots as if no disk drive card is present with "APPLE ][" at the top of the screen. If you type in a program, it will run but when you press cntl-reset the screen turns white and the speaker put out noise (pressing cntl-reset a few more times will make it stop). One person said his ROMs where gone (which will cost him about $60 each) another person said to buy a new motherboard from a company other than Apple to save money. Any suggestions?
