B) make sure that if you have an external speaker connect that it isn't shorted out. (this happened to me once, and it was *mighty* confusing. However, this doesn't sound like the same problem.) C) NEVER NEVER unplug or plug in a UniDisk into the port when the power is on, or anything into the back of the unidisk. If that was done, go get a new motherboard.
