There  are  various libraries for programmers who wish to use a user interface
using  the  text screen !  The July 1988 APDAlog lists in its Curiosity Shoppe
the   Apple  II  Filecard  Toolkit  (low  level  drivers  and  AppleWorks-like
filecards)  and  the  Desktop  Toolkit  (in  two versions for Apple Pascal and
ProDOS)  which  implements the desktop metapher in double hires and MouseText.
Both packages run on a (enhance) //e and up.

  Additional,  on  page  47  there  is  an ad by 360 MicroSystems offering the
IIgs-only  360  Text  Toolkit which implements text screen primitves, windows,
mouse  cursor,  menus  etc.   (BTW,  has  anybody seen this and can share some
impressions ?)
