I have seen a newer ARC and UNARC utility. The ARChiver isn't
available yet except as a Beta test version. Will advise as soon
as I can. The UNARC program which goes with is apparently will
do both ALF and ARC files and FAST. I haven't used it yet. But
will advise as soon as I can. There is also a GIF Viewer program 
which is in ALF format as well as some Daisy Dot programs in ALF
format. Both of these are around 20K UUEncoded. Enough responses
will get a posting. I have found that about HALF of the requests
that I had for the ALF utilities got bounced back to me so, I will
entertain Mail requests, but NO guarantees. I will try.
 
The file names are :

SUPERARC.ARC - This is a Beta Copy so I can't send around.
UNARC.ARC - This is the Unarchiver
BAILEY.ALF - Daisy Dot Fonts
GIFVIEW.ALF - Graphics Interchanger Format Viewing program.
