Windows wouldn't even finish loading with TOPS installed - it just hung with the Windows title screen showing. That was bad enough, but even after I removed TOPS (I eventually even removed the device driver for the Flashcard), I couldn't get Windows to run for more than about 5 minutes. It seemed to lock-up anytime I began to stress its memory usage. For example, when trying to open a second application (even if I had closed the window for the first one) or trying to print something. Very disappointing and not what you'd expect from a mature product from a respected company. My configuration is a Zenith Z-248 (AT-clone) with 3M of RAM (2.5M is extended memory). I was trying to run Windows/286 ver. 2.1 using the Microsoft Extended Memory Manager and SMARTDrive. Lee Zimmerman Naval Ocean Systems Center zimmer@nosc.mil
