There is a commercial program from INSET systems called HIJAAK. It is
a screen snapshot program that also will convert many formats including
GIF and TIF in either direction. It works quite well. I think you can
mail order it for aprox. $90  
It also handles files from most of the Paint programs, GEM, MAC etc.
