You have probably been inundated with responses by now, but in case you haven't, I will send a short response. From your description it sounds as though you have used this font previously on another printer. When you try to initialize the font for more than one printer it wont let you because the font can only be used on one printer. Adobe sold fonts originally for useage in 1 or 5 printer versions. Once you consumed the number of uses, by installing it on that number of printers, the font could not be used again elsewhere. That is the way they are made. Today, I believe, Adobe sells fonts with no limits, that may be used any number of times, but that doesn't help you. In any event the invalid printer message means that there are no more uses left in the font in question. --Bayles Holt
