I know that Apple Drives work, but I'm hoping I have > some other choices. I also know that Dataframe drives do NOT work. I am currently using a Rodime 100M drive with the NTX and it works just fine. I think I currently have about 30 ADOBE fonts installed on it. I believe the Rodime drives are the same physical drives that Apple uses as internals on the SE. I'm surprized that DF drives don't work. We have about 15 of them here and have never had any trouble daisy-chaining them to all and sundry SCSI devices (scanners, tapedrives, SE's port, etc.). One obvious thing you might try is increasing the SCSI port address on the DF to a higher value before attaching to NTX. Disclaimer: I am participating as a guest of Bruce Edwards.
