Anyone interested?

I received a "special limited offer for Computing Professionals" about a
2400 baud Hayes-compatible modem for $169.00, including shipping, hanling,
a "guarantee of satisfaction", and a communications program (Quick Link)
for the Macintosh.  For $19.00 more, you can get a modem cable for your Mac.
(However, our Campus Computer Store is able to get these cables for under
$9.00!  If you want one, shop around.)

It sports all eight status lamps (standard Hayes), is compact and light-
weight (5 x 6 x 1.56", to fit many places larger modems can't), and has a
monitor speaker with volume control, a second phone jack, an easily 
accessible on/off switch, (of course, an RS232/DB-25 computer jack), and a 
two-year warranty.
