Can someone explain to me (or point me to an explanation of) what my
midi interface speaks to my mac serial port?  Specifically, it looks
like my sun has a very similar serial port...  Now if I knew what kind
of protocol...

I presume that the interface converts hardware midi to something more
palatable to the mac's serial port, but what?
