I am trying to get the X.V11R2 client code up on a new machine (an Elxsi running their 4.3 bsd). The servers are suns. I can start new clients between suns, but when I try to start any client on the Elxsi, I get an error like the following: X Protocol error detected by server: invalid resource ID for this connection Failed request major op code 53 X_CreatePixmap [sometimes 45 X_OpenFont] Failed request minor op code 0 (if applicable) Resource ID 0x780000 in failed request (if applicable) Serial ... Consecutive attempts get the same failed resource ID number. After some hunting I find that the complaint seems to be triggered by the presence of the 0x080000 bit "SERVER_BIT" in a request. Can anyone tell me how that might have been erroneously set? ________________________________________________________ Matt Crawford matt@oddjob.uchicago.edu
