I am running AT&T Sys V 3.2 (real UNIX :-)) We corrected this by changing the arguments to 'uux' as follows: UUXFLAGS -r -z to UUXFLAGS -r -b in "defs.h". This can (should) be done through the "localize.sh" script and recompiling 'news'. Hope this helps.
