I received a similar call, and it's quite likely the source
was the Usenet maps, though I can't say for sure.

There's not a whole lot we can do about this kind of thing,
and it's not a big deal in my view.  We're all on lots of mailing
lists for all kinds of purposes.  If I were looking to hire
someone (we will be shortly, in fact), I might have found the
call useful.
