In the usual fine form of Usenet, I have received a couple of flames for my
posting.  It seems some misguided individuals thought I was flaming Doug
Eastick for his posting.

I wasn't.

There is a continuing trend in this group, as all of us regulars know: Once
in a while (usually once per year) someone posts saying "Does this group
still exist?". This is followed by a flurry of discussion about organizing
a singles party, lasting about two weeks.

Then it all goes quiet again.

*This* time, it happened twice in a single year! Thus my posting.

	I'll never ever post an article to Usenet again. :-)
