There are *no* birds legally imported to the U.S. from Australia. Moluccans come from the Pacific islands, but fortunately they breed well in captivity. Many Molluccans imported to this country as "wild caught" are just raised in foreign aviaries without the kind of personal attention that a hand fed bird requires. I personally believe that the only people who should own wild-caught birds are breeders and that all others should buy only domestic birds.
