This would give everyone some idea of who is out there and I hope stimulate some discussions. One problem of any bulletin board (computer or real) is that the 'users' have no knowledge of who else they can contact through the bboard and what their interests, etc, are. It struck me this seems to be what is stalling things here. By giving everyone a "club list" (like those of university halls/colleges, conferences, etc) this might be relieved somewhat. Obviously any conversations starting from this list should, if they could, be keep PUBLIC for all others who may be interested. Peter has obviously beaten me to it, and proposed one sensible way of doing this, but I still am willing to build up the list if it is wanted, but I'm a little worried about whether it (the collated list) will get too big to send out to everybody (What's the limit to E MAIL size anyone?). Any ideas on that one? (Peter's way of doing things would solve this - but it will all come in little bits, etc, and unless it becomes a major effort we will only get to know a few of the interesting people out there. The whole idea would be to get to know as many as possible). Perhaps one of the network administrators could select, at random, one person each day to suffer summarising his work, methods and interests (not necessarily computer oriented as Peter's information list somewhat implies)?? I think once something along these or Peter's lines is accepted by everybody, and continually maintained, more conversation (etc) will flow. Cheers, Grant ----- PS : If anyone's interested ay all, post your sugguested format/contents of the list out to the bboard.
