A printed equivalent of the kind of data base that I am looking for is "Biological Abstracts". If you know of on-line services or data bases offering bibliographic (or even full-text) data bases of biological references, I'd like to hear from you. Low cost (I'm a student) is very important. Dialog and BRS offer the BIOSIS data base, which seems to be pretty close to what I want. Unfortunately, BIOSIS is not available on Knowledge Index (Dialog's after hour service) because the data base vendor insists on per-record display charges, and BRS' after hour service has a montly minimum usage requirement. Assuming that BIOSIS' vendor doesn't change their minds about per-record display charges (a really annoying and dumb restriction), this means I may have to look for other data bases that cover roughly the same material. Thanks, Thomas. Please send replies to: tmb@wheaties.ai.mit.edu (even if you send them to the list).
