My highest priority criterions are excellent F77 compatability and wonderful debuging facilities. Nice whistles and bells, like a good editor, ease of use, and PC targeted extras would be MOST welcomed. I am thinking of buying the Microsoft FORTRAN, but if you, the reader of this note, have a favorite FORTRAN compiler, I would VERY MUCH appreciate if you would send me your recommendation, and perheps the reason for it. When I get in few votes (depending on the kindness of the readers, more than few) I will post to here a short summary to the notes and attempt to send a copy to each person who sends in her or his suggestion. Please note that I was advised by our sysmgr that responses are best mailed to me to the address: solejni%umbio@umigwa.miami.edu Thanks in advance for your help!
