In the book he talks about implementing a version of Smalltalk using C. The source for his version of Smalltalk was posted to the net a while back. I couldn't get it to run and eventually ended up ftp-ing a working version from cs.orst.edu. I'm not sure where on that machine to find the source anymore. NOTE: This version of Smalltalk is NOT Smalltalk-80. It is designed to operate in a tty environment and doesn't give you the nice bit-mapped graphics environment that most Smalltalks do. You do however have the source code to the language, so you can always add your own extensions to do bitblt-ing and other stuff.
