As Elm coordinator, I did post the sources to comp.sources.unix and received an ack back from Rich that he recieved them. That was in mid September, 1988. I do not know the queue status of comp.sources.unix nor do I know the policies of its moderator. Remember in September and October the sources newsgroup was quiet so I do not know the backlog. Has anyone asked Rich. I have not as of yet, because, at first I understood that it took 30 days to get through rich's queue, it is now only about 60 days, and of that time over half, Rich was not around and therefore not posting anything. However, I do not recommend that we all go pester Rich, I am sure that also would only slow down the posting you are all waiting for. What I am doing is waiting for the internet virus queues to die down (after all Rich is on the internet from me) and the I will post him a simple query as to the position in the queue.) >I'm getting damned tired of hearing about bugs in 2.1 before I even >get it! It seems like only those "in the know" have the darned >thing. I'm getting damned tired :-) of hearing people complaining about the status of a free distribution. I, Rich, and all the people who work on Elm also have jobs. As the Elm list can agree, I disappear for a week at a time or so regularly and then do some Elm work again. I have kept quiet as the 'me too's started piling up in this group, but enough. If you really want it, spend the $$ and uucp it from an archive site. As was posted before there are several that have Elm 2.1 available, a couple of FTP sites and a couple of UUCP sites, including ours. Somehow all those 'in the know' got it, and even counting the Elm development group, they all got it via polling someone, either someone that polled dsinc, or polling dsinc directly. I am glad that everyone like Elm, but, some patience please, afterall USENET was a volunteer service, last time I looked. -- ===================================================================== Sydney S.
