In reference to the request for Minix documentation: yes, you have
to buy a book. (Cheap! :') The book is:
        _Operating_Systems:Design_and_Implementation_, A.S. Tanenbaum,
        Prentice-Hall Software Series.
FYI, a number of articles ago there appeared a complete description of
Minix with many helpful references.
