It's an SIMD hypercube; the message routing is done using a 12-D network between chips. There is also a mesh network (NEWS network). However, most people refer to hypercube to mean an MIMD distributed memory machine, e.g., the iPSC/1, Ncube, iPSC/2 or the FPS T-series (rest in peace).
