Where ping or finger ( and the tables, hosts, etc .. ) just know host.do.main or 123.34.45.67 ( internet ) is ARP the solution on private ethernets to findout host.do.main's ether? Some simplified enlightenment would be well apreciated here. I am trying to troubleshoot an interface without knowing what to expect, event or time wise.
