Speaking of which, using Shell 2.07m I have some variables set to common
directory prefixes such as sys:utilities, etc. 

run $util/zoo ...

will work but 

$util/zoo ...

will not. Is there a way to make the first word expand? Frequently I don't
want to use run, eg. with diskcopy.
