I'm on a VAX 11/750 VMS 3.4. Our FTP program does not do TENEX file type. I've been told that this is what I need if I want to transfer files (non-ascii) from SIMTEL20.army.mil. The reason I want to do this is that there are tons of neat *.arc files (PD) for the ibm pc. The guy at simtel20 said I should use the tenex type. Where/how can I add this to our site? I guess what I'd really like is some code. Second question. What is uuencode and uudecode, and how can I get this program? Third question. What the heck is a shell archive, and how can I make/unmake then\m. Remember - I'm not on a unix system. Please do not send mail to eckstrom@kl.sri.com Please send to: msw@cplvax.sri.com (128.18.10.100) Thanks.
