I need help.  I am working with a hand scanner on an experimental basis
that comes with software capable of creating files in TIFF graphics 
format.  

I do not have any information on this format and would first appreciate
every comment that would point me towards information on this format.
I am looking for books, comments, source of information, anything anybody
can help me with.

I am also looking for a good tiff viewer and editor if possible.

Any help out there for me?
