You can create/edit icons to be assigned to your volumes with the ICON Designer by John A. Nairn. This is a shareware program designed to create, edit, and delete icons with both ICON and ICN# resources. I have found this much easier to use than ResEdit for such purposes. ICON Designer can also be used to create HyperCard icons. In order to assign an icon to a particular volume, the icon must have the same name as that volume. For example, if the volume is Mac HD, then the icon name must be Mac HD. John A.
