Message-ID: <5826@hoptoad.uucp> Date: 4 Nov 88 21:58:43 GMT Organization: Eclectic Software, San Francisco Lines: 11 Does anyone have code to speed up text drawing by bypassing QuickDraw and the Font Manager, copying bits directly from the font resource to a window's bitmap? I'm looking to speed up a terminal emulator and this seems like the best way. I know a few other terminal emulators have done this, but it looks like a major pain in the retrace to do it from scratch. It would also help to find a quicker way to allocate storage, but on that point I seem to be stuck with the OS for compatibility reasons. -- Tim Maroney, Consultant, Eclectic Software, sun!hoptoad!tim "Next prefers its X and T capitalized.
