Larger ribbons (thicker) did require the use of a blow torch. Considering the heat required to light a ribbon, the next machine will be so hot that it will burn through a desk, through the floor, and be sittin on the floor in the basement before the case catches; but to generate that kind of heat, I would think you would need a nuclear based power supply that suffers a full meltdown.
