I built X.V11R3 under SunOS 4.0 on both Sun3's and Sun4's with no problems.
I strongly suggest you get the first level of fixes available from MIT
since it fixes a few minor bugs (such as the "-mono" bug I believe).
Anyway, it built just fine, runs fine, and it looks as though it even fixes
the well-known memory allocation problem in the server!

(Just in case anyone's interested in the status of the memory allocation bug
of X.V11R2, I just finished an experiment of opening around 45 windows at
once on my Sun 3/50(!), and after closing them all I was able to open them
all again(!) and the server still didn't grow any more than it did the first
time!  I'm definitely "psych'ed"!!  THANKS MIT!!)
