If you're confused about resources in general, take a look at doc/tutorials/resources.txt. If you're wondering about the exact internal syntax of font names, take a look at doc/fontnames/fnames.txt. If you're confused about the distinction between file names (e.g. helvBO24) and font names (e.g., -Adobe-Helvetica-Bold-O-Normal--24-240-75-75-P-138-ISO8859-1), they aren't the same thing anymore. To see a list of fonts, try using "xlsfonts".
