This partially removes one variable: how much performance is due to the compiler and how much to the hardware. So, I'm interested in getting hooked up with people with both Unix licenses and gcc running on different hardware platforms. I'll provide the benchmark suite (although additions are cheerfully accepted). I have gcc1.30 on a 4.3bsd VAX 780 and a Sun 3/60. Anyone have gcc running on a Sun 3/260 that's willing to help? How about a Sun 4/260? VAX 8700? Convex? Tahoe? Brand X? -- UUCP: {ames, decwrl, prls, pyramid}!mips!earl USPS: MIPS Computer Systems, 930 Arques Ave, Sunnyvale CA, 94086
