The rH factor is a set fo surface antibodies on erythrocytes (red blood cells). The designation positive or negative is based on whether or not the mother has passed these set of antibodies on to her child(ren). Someone who possesses these antigens is rH positive. A person who is negative CAN become positive when positive blood is transfused into his/her body. This is sensitization. I made a mistake. It is possible for the father to contribute as well. It is NOT possible to go from rH positive to rH negative. I'll quit now.
