Let me briefly introduce our group to the BIONET community:
We are at the institute of biochemistry at the Technical University of Darm-
stadt, FRG. Our interests mainly focus on two topics:
Molecular mechanisms of the interaction of proteinases and their inhibitors
(concentrating on elastase and cathepsins, cystatins and stefins), and
the blood-brain-barrier of mammals.
We approach these problems in two ways, classical protein chemistry and
modern molecular biology (cDNA and genomic cloning, expression in E. coli and
cell cultures etc).
